A Time for Celebrating Volunteers
Charity celebrates its volunteers with party and awards
Southend in Sight decided to celebrate their team of volunteers with a party held earlier this week, followed by awards thanking them for their continued support throughout the year.
The High Sheriff of Essex, David Hurst, attended and also received an award for 10 years of voluntary service with Southend in Sight. Twelve other awards were presented at the celebrations for long service to the charity, volunteers ranging in 5 years to 20 years of service!
CEO Lucy Martin, said “Our volunteers go above and beyond, be it giving IT advice in our centre, on the phone to isolated residents, making drinks at our coffee mornings to serving customers in our charity shop”.
