Social Activities

We have a full range of regular social activities to suit all ages, as well as one off events.

We recently took part in a project with the local arts organisation “Metal”. They have created an online gallery with audio description of the people of Southend in Sight – this includes beneficiaries, staff, Trustees, volunteers, supporters and wider families. As part of this project, the people who were photographed talked about themselves, their involvement with us and what our charity means to them. Our regular activities include:

Coffee Mornings.

From 11am to 12.30pm on the first Friday of every month.

At the Ekco Club, Thornford Gardens, Southend, SS2 6PU.

Fun Fridays.

From 11am to 12.30pm on the third Friday of every month.

At the Ekco Club, Thornford Gardens, Southend, SS2 6PU.

Visually impaired Choir.

The “In Sight Singers” meet on the second and last Wednesday of the month from 2pm-3pm at Avenue Baptist Church, Milton Road, Westcliff.

Talking Book Clubs.

We have 2 talking book clubs running on the third Wednesday of the month and the first Tuesday of the month from 2-3pm at our Centre in SAVS, 29 Alexandra Street, Southend.
