Fundraising

As a small local charity, we rely on fundraising in the local community as we receive no statutory grants.  We need to raise funds every year to keep our Community Services running and ensure we can continue to help everyone who comes to us for support.

If you fundraise for us, you will be helping to make a real difference to people living locally with sight loss.

If you would like to make a donation, please click on the button above.

Please consider a regular donation if you can, as this helps us to plan our services and reach more visually impaired people in our local community.

Our Fundraising Promise
Our charity is registered with the Fundraising Regulator.
We promise to:
  • commit to high standards and comply with the relevant codes of practice and the law, including data protection and health and safety.
  • be honest, open and clear about our fundraising activities and how your donation will be used.
  • respect the rights and decisions of our supporters and beneficiaries and not put anyone under undue pressure or cause any nuisance.
  • be clear about how you can amend or stop a donation or how you wish to be contacted.
If you are unhappy about anything we have done whilst fundraising, please call our office on 01702 342131 to let us know, or you can email us: info@southendinsight.org.uk

Challenges

Perhaps you feel like taking on a challenge for us. Staff and volunteers have walked the 13 mile Colourthon and set up their own “117 Challenge” to walk 117 miles in just one week! One of our supporters took on a skydive challenge raising over £1000 for us in one fell swoop!

The possibilities are endless, from a bake sale to a “wearing silly specs for a day” to a beard growing or head shaving competition.

You could set your own running or walking goal and ask family and friends to donate to your chosen charity – Southend in Sight.

Click HERE and choose the “START YOUR CHALLENGE TODAY” option to start your challenge today.

Special Gifts

You may want to make a donation in memory of a loved one.

Perhaps Southend in Sight supported someone special in your life and you would like to remember them by helping us to continue our work.

You can gift an “in memory” donation to Southend in Sight by clicking HERE and choosing 'MAKE AN “IN MEMORY” GIFT TODAY'

Alternatively, please talk to a member of staff by calling our office on 01702 342131.

Legacies

We have been lucky enough, in the past, to have received substantial legacies from local supporters. These generous donations have enabled us to purchase our building and to continue the work of the charity for generations to come.

You can plan your will to ensure it is tax efficient, to avoid your beneficiaries having to pay more inheritance tax and help a charity at the same time. Bequests to charities are tax free.

Southend in Sight would greatly benefit from a legacy. As a small local charity with no statutory funding, we rely on the goodwill of the local community to help keep our services running.

For more information on leaving a legacy in your will, talk to your solicitor or call our office on 01702 342131 and we can give you the required legal information.
